Junior Accountant assists with various accounting tasks under the supervision of senior accounting staff. Their responsibilities include maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. They also handle tasks like accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities :

Maintaining Financial Records :

Posting journal entries, updating general ledgers, and ensuring accuracy of financial data.

Accounts Payable and Receivable :

Managing invoices, tracking payments, and reconciling accounts.

Financial Reporting :

Assisting in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

Bank Reconciliations :

Reconciling company bank accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Month-End and Year-End Close :

Assisting with the closing process, including preparing financial statements and reports for the period.

Auditing :

Assisting with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Payroll :

May assist with processing payroll, including calculating and paying taxes.

Skills and Qualifications :

Education : A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is typically required.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (like QuickBooks or ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and solve problems.

Attention to Detail : Essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance.

Communication Skills : Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
