We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Piping Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate piping layouts and isometric drawings using industry-standard software, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop piping general arrangement (GA) drawings, isometrics, pipe support drawings, and plot plans based on P&IDs and project requirements.
- Utilize 2D and 3D design tools (AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, E3D, PDMS, or Plant 3D) for piping layout and modeling.
- Interpret and apply project specifications, piping class data, and design standards.
- Coordinate closely with process, mechanical, civil, structural, and instrumentation teams for layout consistency.
- Ensure adequate space and accessibility for operation and maintenance in the design.
- Incorporate stress analysis inputs, nozzle orientations, and vendor equipment drawings into piping layouts.
- Prepare and review material take-offs (MTO) and bill of materials (BOM).
- Conduct model reviews and ensure clash-free design in collaboration with the 3D modeling team.
- Assist in resolving design issues during construction and support as-built documentation.
Qualifications :
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting Technology.5+ years of experience as a piping designer in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, or power plant projects.Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SmartPlant 3D, E3D, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or equivalent.Solid understanding of piping components, materials, and design standards (ASME B31.3, B31.1, API, etc.).Knowledge of pipe routing practices, support requirements, and safety clearances.Experience with laser scan data integration and intelligent P&ID tools is a plus.Strong attention to detail, with good organizational and communication skills.Preferred :
Experience in EPC or detailed design projects.Familiarity with Navisworks or similar tools for 3D model review and clash detection.Knowledge of international project standards and multidisciplinary coordination.
