What you will do

The APS Academy is seeking experienced and enthusiastic policy practitioners to support the refresh and redesign of the Delivering Great Policy suite of courses and tools.  The Delivering Great Policy Advice model was developed in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and launched in 2019 as a common framework for the APS to think about the key elements of quality policy advice across portfolios.

This micro-assignment is seeking experienced policy professionals to support the APS Academy in testing the ongoing robustness of the Delivering Great Policy Advice model in today’s context. The assignment will involve collaborating with the Academy to design a model testing workshop; co-facilitating the workshop and writing up workshop outcomes and any recommendations from the workshop process.

As policy experts, you will work alongside the APS Academy’s learning design specialists throughout this micro-assignment. This is a prime opportunity to be part of shaping how we develop policy capability across the APS.

About our team

You will primarily work with the Academy’s Craft Learning Curation and Design team and the APS Academy practitioner adviser. The team is located up and down the east coast of Australia and employs leading hybrid and remote work practices.

• Employee will be engaged through a micro-assignment and will be supported by an informal agreement rather than a full Memorandum of Understanding – through an email agreement. The Employee will more than likely work remotely off their usual work device or via a sharing platform like GovTEAMS – employee access to the host agency’s network or offices may not be needed. The employee will need their home manager’s support to take a micro-assignment opportunity and their home team will continue to pay the employee while they’re on a micro-assignment.
