Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Service Activation Engineer for our client.

Notice Period : Immediate Joiner

Experience : 5+ years of mandatory experience.

Location : Chennai

Position Type : Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing end-to-end service activation processes for broadband, voice, or video services.
  • Automating and maintaining device provisioning systems (modems, set-top boxes, routers, ONTs).
  • Working with DOCSIS technologies to support cable internet deployment.
  • Integrating with OSS / BSS platforms to ensure accurate order-to-activation flow.
  • Troubleshooting activation failures and coordinating with network and IT teams.
  • Collaborating with Agile teams to deliver new features or provisioning tool improvements.

Required Skills & Technologies

  • Experience with DOCSIS standards and CMTS operations.
  • Familiarity with DHCP, TFTP, SNMP , and provisioning file structures.
  • Tools like Netcracker, Amdocs, Cisco Prime , or custom provisioning platforms.
  • Agile methodology (Jira, Confluence, Scrum).
  • Basic scripting (Python, Shell) and networking fundamentals.
