Kissht - Senior Database Administrator - MongoDB

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA II / III) to join our growing team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MongoDB database management, performance optimization, backup and recovery strategies, and monitoring in production environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability, integrity, and security of our database Responsibilities :

• Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB databases in production and development environments.
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries, indexes, and system configuration.
• Manage and maintain high availability setups and replication clusters.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application and infrastructure needs.
• Implement security measures, including authentication, authorization, and auditing.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts or management tools.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide 24 / 7 support on a rotational basis, if required.
• Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and Skills and Qualifications :
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a MongoDB DBA in a production environment.
• Proficiency in MongoDB architecture, internal components, and tools.
• Experience with sharding, replication, and MongoDB Atlas or Ops Manager.
• Strong understanding of query optimization and performance tuning techniques.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting (Shell, Python, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication to Have :
• MongoDB certification (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA Experience with other NoSQL or relational databases.
• Exposure to containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
