We're Hiring : Senior API & Ecommerce Developer (WordPress + WP Engine Focused)

Remote | Full-Time

Are you a skilled developer with a strong background in API integrations, ecommerce solutions, and WordPress performance optimization? We’re looking for a Senior API & Ecommerce Developer to join our growing team. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love problem-solving, and have experience with WP Engine , WooCommerce , and image optimization , we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

API Development & Integration

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs to support ecommerce platforms and third-party systems.
Integrate APIs for WooCommerce, Shopify, Zoho, and other business-critical services.

Ecommerce Development

Develop, maintain, and optimize ecommerce websites with a focus on performance and user experience.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to turn business requirements into scalable solutions.

WordPress & WP Engine Management

Manage and optimize WordPress sites hosted on WP Engine.

Deploy sites using Git, SSH Gateway, and structured staging workflows.

Ensure performance, security, backups, and ongoing updates are consistently maintained.

Cloud Infrastructure & Security

Work within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to manage hosting environments and site infrastructure.

Implement security protocols, monitoring, and disaster recovery best practices.

Image Optimization & Performance

Optimize images using resizing, lossy / lossless compression, and modern formats (WebP, AVIF).

Apply lazy loading techniques and use CDNs for faster global delivery.

Maintain accessibility standards by providing descriptive alt text.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 7 years of experience in API development and systems integration.

At least 5 years of experience working with WP Engine and WordPress optimization.

Strong background in backend development using PHP and JavaScript (including jQuery).

Proficiency with MySQL and relational database design.

Experience managing deployments with Git, SSH Gateway, and staging / production environments.

Minimum 3 years of experience in image optimization and website performance enhancement.

Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud hosting and administration.

Familiarity with analytics tools such as Looker Studio and Google Analytics.

Technical Skills

Languages : PHP, JavaScript (incl. jQuery), Python

Platforms : WooCommerce, Shopify, Zoho, WordPress

Databases : MySQL, PostgreSQL

Tools : Git, SSH, WP Engine, GCP, CDNs

Frontend : HTML, CSS (bonus)

Excellent communicator with transparent, proactive communication.

Ability to produce clear documentation and technical notes.

Maintains accurate records and can account for completed tasks in team meetings.

Fast learner, adaptable to new technologies and workflows.

Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing best practices.
