We're a fast-growing consumer fintech startup backed by a leading payments unicorn. Our mission is to reimagine how Indian users engage with UPI payments by embedding rewards, loyalty, and brand commerce into everyday transactions.
We're now hiring a Product Design Lead / Head to build and scale the design function from the ground up.
Role Overview :
As the Product Design Lead / Head, you'll define the UX and visual identity across our core offerings-from payments to loyalty to brand commerce. You'll own the full design stack : user research, wireframing, prototyping, and delivery, while also building a high-performing design team.
This is a foundational role with high visibility and direct impact on both product and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
Design Strategy & Vision :
- Define the UX roadmap across mobile, web, and embedded merchant experiences
- Translate product goals into scalable, intuitive design systems
- Champion user-first thinking across the company
- User Research & Experience Mapping
- Lead interviews, usability tests, and customer feedback loops
- Map journeys and pain points to actionable UX flows
- Work with data and qualitative inputs to drive design decisions
- Product & Interface Design
- Design wireframes, UIs, and interactive prototypes
- Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers for spec delivery and QA
- Own key product flows : onboarding, payment journeys, reward redemption, D2C commerce
- Team Leadership & Design Ops
- Hire and mentor a team of designers over time
- Set up design rituals : critiques, 1 : 1s, reviews, sprint planning
- Build a design system to ensure consistency and velocity
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, tech, growth, and brand teams
- Present design thinking and outputs to founders and stakeholders
- Participate in roadmap and OKR planning sessions
What We're Looking For :
8-15 years of experience in product design, including at least 3+ years in a leadership roleBackground in fintech, consumer apps, or e-commerce (UPI / payments / loyalty is a plus)Strong hands-on skills in Figma and modern prototyping / user research toolsDeep understanding of interaction design, UX writing, accessibility, and system thinkingProven experience building teams, defining design processes, and mentoring junior talentProduct-minded designer who thinks in flows, outcomes, and business impactConfident communicator with the ability to advocate design at the leadership levelNice to Have :
