We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Procurement to join the Bidding Energy & Resources Team in North Sydney! In this role, you will effectively lead bid phase procurement, reporting to the Bid Director, to ensure technically sound and cost-effective proposals. You’ll coordinate procurement planning, develop Make or Buy strategies, and manage the RfQ process across Energy and Resources projects. As part of a national team, travel to bid office locations may be required.

Your focus will include :

  • During initial phase of the bid study :
  • Develop Technical Procurement Program to be integrated in the Bid Study Program;
  • Follow Design Development / Options to consider
  • Develop Internal and JV Partners consensus on Bid Strategy
  • Develop common market package content aligned with project, contract, QHSE, Global Supply Chain requirements
  • Bid Study Ongoing activities :
  • Develop Package List Based on Make Buy Strategy
  • Develop Packages Based on Reference Design
  • Develop / spec Market Packages Based on Internal Design
  • Liaise with GSC for Vendor Technical Queries
  • Liaise with the wider team to ensure comprehensive coverage of scope of work
  • Closing Phase of Bid Study :
  • Conduct technical review of offers received
  • Liaise with Global Supply Chain on key priority outputs
  • Handover offer recommendations to estimating
  • Track estimate deplugging
  • Participate in line-by-line review of estimate
  • Verify deplugged estimate
  • Track estimate variances post submission

What you will bring to the team :

  • Degree qualified or other professional qualifications; such as Diploma or Certificate in a related subject matter combined with significant practical experience on EPC projects.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in the delivery of energy, resources or similar construction projects
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Capable of hands on management of major equipment packages
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial terms and conditions and ability to negotiate same
