We are looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance , based in Mumbai.

Your Team

It is an Individual Contributor Role providing expertise in legal issues as well as ensuring the branch is compliant in all aspects.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Local CEO of India Branch, with Matrix reporting to Regional Head of Legal and Compliance. Ensure legal support to management and other departments of the Branch and Compliance Officer for the Branch.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include :

• Manage Legal & Compliance department.
• Coordinate legal and compliance policies and procedures with Global and Regional L&C. Liaison for L&C topics which require escalation to the Region and Global L&C. Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the AGCS India Branch and ensure adherence to local requirements.
• Address potential compliance and / or legal issues in business arrangements in the region.
• Legal and compliance support for the business, projects, and initiatives and to advise on legal and / or regulatory considerations arising from projects and initiatives. Review, amend and negotiate commercial contracts in line with business needs.
• Organize Compliance processes at AGCS India, perform Compliance activities and investigations in line with the general guidelines set by the Global Head of Legal & Compliance and / or Global Compliance Officer. Organize and, where needed, perform Compliance training as relevant under the Global Compliance training program and local regulatory requirements, e.g. induction trainings for new joiners, onboarding trainings for management level. Follow up on training participation status and provide rationale to Global Compliance Officer. Implement together with AGCS India business functions and the Compliance Topic Implementation Program on implementing Global Compliance Program related processes, measures, tools in line with the general guidelines set by the Global Compliance Officer as required, e.g. Anti-Trust Program, Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Fraud, etc.
• Provide comprehensive, accurate, timely, and cost-effective compliance monitoring and advisory services to stakeholders in AGCS India.
• Ensure timely availability of reports relevant to above task areas e.g. for AGCS Quarterly Compliance Updates, Group reporting. Participate in, contribute to and report on Compliance topics to the AGCS India Executive Management Team.
• Facilitate regulatory inspections, initiate work groups (where necessary) to resolve any regulatory issues that are raised by the regulator and monitor the implementation of the solutions with regular updates to management. Ensure corporate governance adherence.
