About the role
Manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Firmware Engineering. Establishes objectives and guidelines for the preparation of software engineering designs and working plans. Creates designs for reviews and coordinates with engineering staff and other organizations regarding product and commercial firmware design development. Provides technical leadership and assists in training less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Directs the activities related to the analysis, design, programming, debugging, troubleshooting and modification of software for firmware (IC embedded code) applications.
- Oversees programming activities involving analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.
- May have responsibility for the programming of assembly language, machine language and high level languages, including but not limited to C and C++.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
As a Minimum You Must Have
Research and development of controller platforms for the Carrier HVAC businessManage a high performing team of Carrier engineers with disciplines in Firmware and Software, maintain strong team performance and recruit as needed.Develop project timelines, manage budgetary constraints, communicate progress updates to business leaders & Engineering Leadership. Navigate complexity to mitigate design risks. Deliver solutions on time.Lead and organize development teams, gather requirements, organize testing and evaluations of and Embedded connected systems.Partner with other HVAC business units and integrate developed systems into backend cloud and\or mobile apps.Standardize platforms across Carrier in collaboration with Engineering and Product managementTypical Educational Requirements :
MS (preferred) / BS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering or equivalent with 15+ years of experience in the field or related fieldBenefits :
