Job Title : Data Architect AWS Cloud & ETL Migration

Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in AWS cloud services to lead and support data migration and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing robust data architectures, leading the migration of data from legacy systems to the AWS cloud, and leveraging AWS ETL services to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient data processing.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Migration Design & Execution :

  • Assess current data architectures and source systems to plan end-to-end data migration strategies.
  • Lead and execute the migration of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from on-premises or legacy sources to AWS.
  • Ensure minimal downtime, high data quality, and integrity during migration.

AWS ETL Implementation :

  • Design and implement scalable and maintainable ETL pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and Amazon EMR.
  • Optimize data ingestion and transformation workflows for performance and cost efficiency.

    • Data Architecture & Modeling :

  • Define and implement data modeling standards (e.g., dimensional, normalized) across various data layers (staging, ODS, data lake, data warehouse).
  • Develop and maintain metadata, data lineage, and data catalogs using AWS Glue Data Catalog or similar tools.

    • Collaboration & Governance :

  • Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define data needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Enforce best practices around data security, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and access controls.

    • Monitoring & Optimization :

  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines and services.
  • Perform regular performance tuning and system optimization on ETL jobs and AWS resources.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or in a similar data-centric role.
  • Proven experience in AWS cloud platform, including services like S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Athena, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing ETL workflows and data migration strategies.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and handling large-scale data processing.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, Python, or PySpark for data manipulation and automation.
  • Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica (AWS-compatible) is a plus.

    • Preferred Skills :

  • AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
  • Experience with CI / CD for data pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
