About the Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Engineer / Scripting Specialist with a strong background in scripting, systems administration, and automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Unix / Windows environments and a solid understanding of scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, or JavaScript. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to design, implement, and support automation solutions that enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions across client environments.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to define and refine automation requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system automation and scripting.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes, solutions, and development activities.
  • Leverage scripting and programming skills to automate routine system administration tasks.
  • Participate in testing activities including preparation of test cases, regression testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Continuously improve processes by identifying automation opportunities and implementing enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in scripting, automation, or software development.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, JavaScript).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Unix or Windows system environments.
  • Understanding of ITIL-based operations and systems administration practices.
  • Familiarity with regular expressions, APIs, JSON, SQL, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Flexible mindset with a strong sense of urgency and multitasking capabilities.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and eagerness to share Skills :
  • Prior experience in a Systems Administrator role with hands-on scripting for automation (ideal 50 / 50 split).
  • Exposure to networking, databases, web services, and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache).
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios), Jira, ServiceNow, SaaS platforms, and API development.
  • Experience in preparing test cases and performing automated and manual regression testing.
