Description : Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Redshift AWS Administrator to manage, optimize, and support our Redshift data warehouse and related AWS services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Redshift administration, data backup and recovery, user access management, Kafka operations, Linux systems administration, and automation using shell scripting. This role will collaborate closely with engineering, data, and support teams to ensure high availability, secure access, and efficient performance across environments.
Key Responsibilities :
Redshift Administration :
- Configure, manage, and optimize Amazon Redshift clusters across production and non-production environments.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions for Prod & Non-Prod environments.
- Create and manage snapshots for backup, retention, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor Redshift cluster performance and query workloads; identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Configure and monitor CloudWatch alarms for cluster performance, storage, and system health.
- Perform data load / unload activities between Redshift and S3 based on user and project requirements.
- Create and manage Redshift Data Shares for secure inter-account and inter-cluster data distribution.
- Build and maintain external schemas and external tables using AWS Glue and Athena.
- Manage AWS MDC tasks across QA, Stage, and Prod environments.
- Participate in production deployments and release activities.
Kafka Administration :
Work with Confluent Kafka and AWS MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka).Deploy, configure, and operate Confluent Kafka clusters (including on-premise installations).Monitor Kafka services across Dev, Stage, and Prod environments.Troubleshoot cluster issues in collaboration with support teams.Manage Kafka upgrades and resolve post-upgrade issues.Additional Responsibilities :
Provide support for Reltio platform as required by users.Work extensively in Linux environments for system administration, troubleshooting, and operational tasks.Create and maintain shell scripts to automate routine tasks.Build and maintain automated jobs using cron for scheduled operations.Qualifications & Requirements :
5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS environment administration.Strong expertise in Amazon Redshift cluster management.Proficiency in SQL and PL / SQL / T-SQL.Experience with AWS services such as S3, CloudWatch, Glue, Athena, and MSK.Experience in Kafka administration (Confluent Kafka preferred).Solid understanding of Linux system operations and shell scripting.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance-tuning skills.Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle cross-functional coordination.(ref : hirist.tech)
