Job Title : Instructional Designer
The Instructional Designer will create effective and learner-centered educational experiences, through classroom, online learning and hands on experiences to support the growth various audiences, , including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Training Needs Assessment : Perform needs and task analysis, scope projects, and constantly evaluate the most appropriate training approach and content to meet the learning needs of the audience.
- Training Program Development : Design, develop, deploy, and maintain effective online / classroom training programs to meet departmental needs. Create and update instructor-led and e-learning curriculums using software such as Microsoft Suite and Articulate 360. Design and implement innovative solutions based on the 70 / 20 / 10 model.
- Training Delivery and Facilitation : Focus on the expected outcomes, based on the audience’s prior skills, experience, expectations and needs, and design a course based on the available technology, budget and time. Select the most appropriate instructional multimedia and write effective copies, texts, audio and video scripts. This requires thorough multimedia knowledge.
- Training Evaluation and Effectiveness : Create effective and fair assessments that foster the learners’ development by providing opportunities to demonstrate their mastery of the learning goals. Conduct thorough research using solid analytical skills and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Talent Development Programs : Assist in the design and management of talent development programs, including leadership development, career development, and succession planning initiatives. Collaborate with HR business partners and managers to identify high-potential employees and create development plans.
- Training Partnerships : With strong guidance from SMEs and team members, create training content that can be used and applied in the real business situations. Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and source materials to create interactive and engaging development experiences and learning interactions.
- Data and Analytics : Utilize data and analytics to understand learner behavior, measure business impact and drive continuous improvement in our learning solutions.
Training Program : Design and develop comprehensive learning solutions, incorporating (either develop or identify resources) multiple modalities (online, video, simulations, Instructor-led, Virtual, etc.), to meet business and performance objectives.
KEY REQURIEMENTS :
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organizational Psychology, or a related field is required.3 - 5 years experience in training and development roles, preferably with experience in program design, development, and facilitation. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.Demonstrated skill in course authoring and design tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, HTML5, Adobe Presenter, Captivate, Camtasia, Photoshop, and Illustrator)Expert-level knowledge of instructional systems design methodology, rapid design / development methodologies, adult learning theory, research methodology, and assessment toolsAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize, work independently, and meet strict deadline.A flexible mindset and agile approach to deliverables.
