Purpose of the Job :
The Marketing Director at OUP India is tasked with leading the marketing function to drive organizational growth and brand prominence. This involves spearheading strategies to acquire new customers, maximize revenue from existing customers, ensure exceptional customer service, and harness data analytics to inform product and pricing decisions. Additionally, the role emphasizes promoting OUP India's key pillars-English, STEM, and Digital education-to support the mission of delivering high-quality educational resources and expanding market reach across India.
Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas :
1. Develop and Implement Targeted Marketing Strategies : Design and execute comprehensive marketing plans to attract new customers, aiming for specific targets (e.g., percentage increase or number of new clients) across all product lines, as set by annual goals.
2. Enhance Revenue Through Customer Retention : Focus on initiatives to increase usage and retention among existing customers, teachers, and students, aiming to meet or exceed annual revenue targets, ensuring steady income from the current customer base.
3. Lead Customer Service Excellence : Direct customer service efforts to provide exceptional support, aiming for high customer satisfaction levels as measured by Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and other feedback metrics, fostering long-term loyalty.
4. Boost Brand Visibility Through Strategic Campaigns : Plan and execute promotional campaigns and strategic partnerships to enhance OUP India's reputation and visibility in English language learning, STEM education, and digital innovation, with success tracked by annual brand awareness or engagement metrics.
5. Drive Data-Informed Decision-Making : Use analytics and consumer research to generate actionable insights that shape product development, pricing strategies, and marketing tactics, ensuring all major decisions are data-supported and evaluated quarterly for effectiveness.
6. Cultivate a High-Performing Marketing Team : Develop a marketing team to achieve departmental objectives, with performance assessed by meeting or exceeding team KPIs and supporting individual growth plans, reviewed annually.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience :
1. Master's Degree (MBA) in Marketing from Tier-1 College with a minimum of 15 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role, preferably in the education or publishing industry.
2. Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition and retention, addressing the strategic focus of the role.
3. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, essential for a director-level position.
4. Excellent analytical abilities, with proficiency in using data to guide decision-making, aligning with the analytics expectation.
5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external.
