About the Role :

As a UX Architect at Ascendion, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design direction for critical products and platforms. You will balance deep creative thinking with rigorous system-level design, bringing clarity to ambiguity while ensuring every experience is cohesive, intuitive, and high-performing. This role demands a seasoned design leader who can not only conceptualize bold, human-centered ideas but also roll up their sleeves to bring them to life, all while upholding the highest standards of design craft.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) :

• Design Leadership & Strategy : Lead end-to-end product design efforts, from early discovery and concepting phases to delivering polished, system-aligned solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.
• Creative Vision & Innovation : Bring a strong creative vision to problem-solving, encouraging and guiding design teams to think beyond obvious solutions and pursue bold, innovative, human-centered ideas.
• Design System Architecture : Architect and evolve scalable design systems that promote consistency, flexibility, and craftsmanship across diverse products and platforms. Develop and maintain design guidelines, component libraries, and pattern libraries.
• Mentorship & Talent Elevation : Mentor and elevate design talent within the team, fostering growth in areas such as visual storytelling, strategic thinking, systems design, and overall design craftsmanship.
• Quality Assurance & Standards : Uphold and champion high standards in visual and interaction design, ensuring that every touchpoint within the user journey is intentional, accessible, delightful, and adheres to brand guidelines.
• Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely and effectively with Product Managers, Engineering leads, and Research teams to balance innovation with technical feasibility, bringing thoughtful and impactful user experiences to life.

Communication & Articulation : Clearly articulate complex design decisions, rationale, and user insights to stakeholders at all levels, influencing strategic direction and fostering a shared understanding of the user experience.

What You Bring (Required Skills & Qualifications) :

Overall Experience : Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in UX / Product Design.

UX Design & Leadership Experience : 7+ years of hands-on UX design experience, including at least 2+ years in a dedicated design lead, principal, or architect role.

User-Centered Design Expertise : Deep understanding and proven application of user-centered design (UCD) methods and principles across the entire product lifecycle, from research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and implementation.

Visual Design Fundamentals : Strong fundamentals in visual design, including a keen understanding of typography, color theory, layout, hierarchy, and composition, with a sharp eye for cohesion and pixel-perfect detail.

Mentorship & Critique : Proven ability to constructively mentor and critique designers, helping teams grow their skills and consistently deliver high-quality, impactful design work.

Communication & Facilitation : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to facilitate workshops, conduct presentations, and make design decisions clear, inclusive, and impactful to diverse audiences.
