Job Title : ABAP Consultant

Experience : 4+ Years

Location : Bangalore (Hybrid 2-3 days onsite)

Employment Type : Contract

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with a strong background in traditional and modern ABAP development, particularly in OData services and RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting SAP applications, extensions, and integrations within the SAP S / 4HANA landscape. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain ABAP programs, reports, forms, enhancements (user exits / BADIs), and custom objects in S / 4HANA and ECC environments.
  • Design and implement OData services for integration with SAP Fiori and external applications.
  • Develop and extend applications using RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) for cloud and on-

premise solutions.

  • Create CDS views with annotations, manage behavior definitions, and expose data using OData V2 / V4 protocols.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional consultants to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
  • Handle performance tuning of ABAP programs, optimize SQL statements, and analyze traces.
  • Maintain proper documentation and adhere to SAP development standards and best practices.

    • Required Technical Skills :

  • ABAP / 4 Programming Classic reports, ALV, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, Module Pool Programming.
  • OData Services Creation, consumption, deep structures, error handling, and testing.
  • RAP Development using CDS, Behavior Definitions, Metadata Extensions, and Business Services.
  • CDS Views Complex CDS with associations, analytical views, and annotations.
  • Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP) Classes, interfaces, exception handling.
  • Enhancement Techniques BADI, user exits, enhancement spots.
  • Debugging & Performance Optimization Use of SAT / ST05, SQL trace, performance improvements.

    • Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :

  • Exposure to SAP Fiori / UI5 and frontend integration via OData.
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) concepts and extension development.
  • Experience in S / 4HANA environment including clean core development principles.
  • Knowledge of ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) in embedded steampunk.

    • Soft Skills :

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in Agile / Scrum-based project environments.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
