Role Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Murex Environment Support Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in managing, configuring, and supporting Murex environments, coupled with strong technical skills in UNIX, SQL, and scripting. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of critical Murex instances, providing Level 2 / 3 production support, and independently handling environment-related projects and issues. A strong understanding of financial products, particularly derivatives, and ITIL practices is :
- Possess extensive hands-on experience with UNIX, SQL, and Shell Scripting.
- Demonstrate knowledge and practical experience with job scheduling tools like Crontab, Control-M, or UC4.
- Provide end-to-end environment management and configuration experience for Murex applications.
- Deliver Level 2 / 3 application production support for in-scope data-related applications within the Murex ecosystem.
- Possess the capability to create new Murex environments on-demand from scratch, including all necessary configurations.
- Manage Release Management activities, with exposure to various tools such as SVN, Nexus, ANT, Jenkins, or GIT.
- Handle Datamart configurations and Processing scripts configuration for EOD (End-of-Day) processes within Murex.
- Set up and ensure the functionality of Failover / DR (Disaster Recovery) solutions for Murex database and application infrastructure.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure monitoring for Murex environments.
- Work independently on Murex projects, collaborating effectively with key client stakeholders.
- Possess excellent debugging skills to diagnose and resolve complex Murex application and environment issues.
- Apply a strong understanding of ITIL Practices, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Event Management.
- Optimize Murex EOD Datamart Feeder extractions for improved performance and efficiency.
- Work on service requests using the Incident / Service management workflow, raised by business users, and provide timely resolutions.
- Display SME (Subject Matter Expert) level knowledge in resolving user issues and other environment-related issues.
- Collaborate closely with the onshore support team to manage batch support of jobs feeding data into Murex and delivering data to consumers.
- Oversee production and non-production EOD processing / environment support and monitoring.
- Possess a good understanding of both exchange-traded and OTC (Over-The-Counter) Derivatives, with specific focus on Credit and Rates products, including clarity on their life Skills & Qualifications :
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Murex environment support or Murex Strong proficiency in UNIX operating system and Shell Scripting.
- Expertise in SQL for database querying and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Murex environment management and configuration.
- Knowledge of job scheduling tools such as Crontab, Control-M, or UC4.
- Experience in supporting Murex Datamart configurations and EOD processes.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and practices.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills in a complex Murex landscape.
- Good understanding of financial products, particularly Credit and Rates derivatives.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related fieldor equivalent practical Skills :
- Prior exposure to implementation using DevOps practices in a Murex or financial technology context.
- Experience with release management tools such as SVN, Nexus, ANT, Jenkins, or GIT.
- Familiarity with specific Murex modules.
- Experience with database administration concepts for Murex-related databases.
