We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Playwright, Java, Cucumber, and AWS. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for both UI and API testing, ensuring the quality and reliability of modern web applications in an Agile environment. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, hands-on technical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (Data-Driven, Hybrid, BDD, TDD) using Playwright with Java and Cucumber (Gherkin syntax, step definitions, reporting).
- Implement UI automation using Playwright and Selenium WebDriver.
- Create and maintain API automation tests using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools 1 .
- Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), supporting parallel execution and headless browser testing.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and identify scenarios based on business requirements.
- Perform backend validation using SQL queries across various databases (Snowflake, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
- Utilize AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, etc.) for test automation and infrastructure integration.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and ensure test coverage.
- Use project management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray) for test management and reporting.
- Generate and maintain test reports and documentation.
- Mentor team members on QA automation best practices and modern testing strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in software testing and QA automation for web applications.Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Java, and Cucumber (BDD).Proficiency in building and maintaining automation frameworks and writing automated test scripts.Experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, etc.).Familiarity with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, Gradle, Git) and integrating automation into pipelines.Experience with API testing tools (Rest Assured, Postman, gRPC).Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) and working in Agile teams.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with defect management and bug-tracking systems (JIRA, Xray).Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple assignments.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional automation tools (Selenium, WebDriver IO, Appium, etc.).Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.Exposure to test planning, strategy, and reporting dashboards.Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, TFS).Experience with backend and database validation using SQL.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related analytical field
