Role Purpose
The Commercial Solution Architect will be responsible for defining and designing solution architectures across customer's commercial technology ecosystem, primarily focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Optimizely (or similar Digital Experience Platform). This role will work closely with the Lead Commercial Architect and broader enterprise architecture and delivery teams to ensure all solutions are aligned with customer's business objectives, technology standards, and digital roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design and document end-to-end solution architectures across CRM, DXP, and integration layers.
- Develop architecture blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns that align with enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide architectural oversight across multiple concurrent commercial technology initiatives.
- Ensure designs adhere to security, scalability, and performance best practices.
Collaboration & Governance
Work under the direction of the Lead Commercial Architect to ensure consistent application of design principles and standards.Participate in Architecture Review Boards and present solution proposals with clear articulation of technical decisions and business impacts.Collaborate with delivery teams (CRM, DXP, Data, Integration) to ensure designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.Support vendor evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, and technology assessments as required.Technical Expertise
Provide subject matter expertise in MS Dynamics 365 CRM (Sales, Marketing, Customer Service) and Optimizely or comparable DXP platforms (Sitecore, Adobe Experience Cloud, etc.).Work with Azure Integration Services, APIs, and middleware platforms to design connected experiences between CRM, DXP, and downstream systems.Support data and identity integration (e.G., customer data platforms, SSO, consent management).Required Experience & Skills
15+ years of experience in solution or technical architecture within digital, CRM, or commercial technology domains.Proven experience delivering solutions based on :Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM / Customer EngagementOptimizely, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Platform, or similar DXP solutionsStrong understanding of integration architecture and data exchange patterns (APIs, ETL, Azure integration).Experience designing customer experience, marketing automation, and digital commerce solutions.Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting architecture materials to review boards and senior stakeholders.Excellent communication and documentation skills — ability to produce clear solution diagrams and rationales.Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in multi-vendor, global delivery environments.Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure cloud-native services and DevOps pipelines.Understanding of data privacy, GDPR, and security design principles.Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and collaboration tools (Azure DevOps, Confluence, Miro, etc.).Certification in Dynamics 365 Solution Architecture or Optimizely Architecture (desirable).Engagement Expectations
Operate as an extended member of customer's architecture community, adhering to defined governance and documentation standards.Participate in solution review and design sessions across CRM, DXP, and integration domains.Deliver all solution artifacts (HLDs, design documentation, data flow diagrams) in line with customer's templates and timelines.Report progress, risks, and dependencies to the Lead Commercial Architect on a weekly basis.Soft Skills & Behaviours
