Network Tools Engineer L4 / Automation Engineer – SolarWinds – Powershell development

We are seeking a highly skilled SolarWinds Engineer to manage, optimize and automate various functions of our SolarWinds platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the SolarWinds Orion suite, with experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of the platform as well as PowerShell Development. This role plays a critical part in ensuring observability, performance monitoring, and automation across our global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

• Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform, including NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM, and other modules.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating SolarWinds tasks such as :
• Node onboarding / offboarding
• Alert suppression or muting during maintenance windows
• Custom alert / report generation and distribution o SolarWinds–ServiceNow integration enhancements
• Implement custom monitoring logic, automated diagnostics, and integrations via Orion API, SWIS, and REST endpoints.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand automation needs and deliver solutions that support observability workflows.
• Build tools and utilities to support monitoring self-service, reporting automation, and configuration validation.
• Manage custom Pollers, SNMP configurations, and agentless / agent-based monitoring across multi-vendor environments.
• Design and optimize SWQL and SQL queries to support reports and custom dashboards for tailored views.
• Configure and maintain alert logic, escalation policies, and notification integrations (e.G., with ServiceNow, email, Teams).
• Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, leveraging SolarWinds logs and metrics.
• Maintain security posture of the application, including RBAC, SNMPv3, and audit logging.
• Contribute to and maintain Kanban board tasks and documentation related to SolarWinds projects and issues.
