As we expand our creative team, we're looking for an Assistant Compositing Team Leader to support the compositing supervisor and mentor a talented team of artists across a range of high end VFX projects for film, TV, and streaming platforms.
Role Overview
The Assistant VFX Compositing Team Leader will support the compositing supervisor in day-to-
day shot delivery, artist mentoring, and maintaining technical and creative excellence. This role
combines hands-on compositing with leadership responsibilities, requiring a sharp artistic eye,
deep technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leading team of artists & Supervision of workflow.
- Support the Compositing Supervisor in leading the compositing team, setting daily priorities, assigning shots, and managing timelines
- Mentor and guide compositors with clear, constructive feedback
- Facilitate communication between compositors, VFX supervisor, production teams, and pipeline.
- Monitor progress and maintain consistency across sequences
- Demonstrate Creative & Technical Execution
- Review and help finalize shots for approval and client delivery
- Troubleshoot complex compositing tasks such as green screen keying, rotoscoping, tracking, and CG integration
- Maintain look continuity, color grading standards, and integration fidelity across the project
Workflow & Pipeline Coordination :
Assist in developing efficient workflows, render pass breakdowns, and color pipeline integrationEnsure artists are following best practices for Nuke, scripting, project organization, and renderingWork with production coordinators and other leads to track task status and prioritize deliveriesRequired Skills & Experience :
5–7+ years of hands-on compositing experience, preferably in high-end TV, film, or commercial work2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role within a VFX teamExperience is 2D Comp is must, CG experience would be an added advantage.Expert-level Nuke skills (share showreel demonstrating professional-level CG / live-action integration)Strong understanding of multi-pass compositing, stereo / anamorphic workflows, and matte painting integrationExcellent eye for detail, lighting, depth, and color compositionStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilitiesClear communicator, able to give and receive feedback efficientlyFamiliarity with tracking / team coordination tools such as Shotgun / FtrackBonus Qualifications :
Background in photography, cinematography, or fine artsWorking knowledge of Silhouette, After Effects, Photoshop, or 3D toolsExperience with end to end VFX pipelinesFamiliarity with basic editorial tools
