Role Overview :
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for onboarding homechefs , managing daily operational workflows, and ensuring consistent growth and performance across the assigned region. This role combines strategic planning, ground-level execution, and vendor relationship management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify and onboard new homechefs as vendors to the Grubwala platform.
- Pitch Grubwala’s value proposition to home-based food entrepreneurs and negotiate onboarding terms.
- Handle day-to-day operational activities , including order tracking, issue resolution, menu updates, and coordinating with logistics.
- Monitor and support vendors in improving food quality, packaging standards, and order fulfillment.
- Act as the main point of contact for homechefs, ensuring smooth communication and timely assistance.
- Drive order growth and customer retention in the assigned territory through vendor performance optimization.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (orders, cancellations, ratings, response time) and implement improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing and logistics teams to design hyperlocal campaigns and ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct regular field visits and check-ins with vendors to build strong, trust-based relationships.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hotel Management, or related field (MBA preferred)3–6 years of experience in sales, business development, or operations, preferably in food-tech, homechef platforms, or FMCGStrong people management and negotiation skillsAbility to multitask and manage both strategic and hands-on operational tasksProficient in using Excel, CRM tools, and basic analyticsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPrior experience working with small vendors or micro-entrepreneurs (homechefs, cloud kitchens) is a strong plus
