Summary of the Role

Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, in instrument section to ensure that it functions reliably and safely and complies with process specifications. Direct and monitor preventative & corrective maintenance and repair activities in the Instrument section to maintain asset reliability and integrity. This position focuses on the effectiveness, reliability and efficiency of Lubrizols Instrument assets through the LZAI Maintenance Department. He is to ensure that work is done in a safe and environmentally friendly manner, that the work is accomplished in an economical and timely manner. This position is necessary to provide focus for the Instrumentation Maintenance of process plants at ground level.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
• Set, calibrate, or adjust equipment, machinery, and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions.
• Maintain tools and repair equipment in good working order.
• Breakdown maintenances are initiated by user department through ERP system. Daily maintenance jobs are discussed during morning meeting between process & maintenance in charges.
• Initiate PM program on monthly basis and follow up with mechanic.
• Liaise with functional or operational Officers / Staff of the user departments to understand & resolve their day-to-day issues and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations.
• Daily feedback on breaks down and PM.
• To review JSA and SOP. Hazop study of critical process equipments.
• Suggesting ideas for betterment of maintenance activity.
• Take plant round and initiate action for attending abnormalities observed if any.
• Maintain good housekeeping in respective and related plant area.
• Supervision of day-to-day maintenance activities.
• Risk assessment of jobs prior to commencement of jobs.
• Assisting Manager for Identification / procurement of adequate Instrumentation tools required for preventive & corrective instrument maintenance.
• Monitoring SCADA trends for frequent breakdowns & initiate corrective / preventive action with the help of electrical manager. Preparing CAPA for same.
