About the Role
The Director – Pharmacy will provide visionary academic and administrative leadership to the School of Pharmacy. The role demands a seasoned academician with strong industry connect, deep understanding of regulatory compliance (PCI / AICTE / UGC), exceptional people leadership skills, and experience in building high-performing academic institutions.
This position will lead the overall development, accreditation, research ecosystem, teaching excellence, student outcomes, and strategic partnerships for the Pharmacy Department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership & Program Management
Lead the design, review, and enhancement of all Pharmacy programs (D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Ph.D.).
Ensure curriculum alignment with PCI, AICTE, UGC norms and global best practices.
Drive academic quality, innovative pedagogy, and digital learning initiatives.
Oversee effective execution of teaching plans, timetables, exams, and assessment systems.
2. Regulatory & Compliance Management
Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory and regulatory bodies (PCI, AICTE, UGC, NAAC).
Manage audits, inspections, documentation, and timely approvals.
Lead accreditation processes and contribute to ranking initiatives.
3. Research, Innovation & Publications
Build a strong research culture with focus on high-quality publications, patents, funded projects, and collaborations.
Mentor faculty and students in research and project development.
Promote technology transfer, consultancy, and innovation activities.
4. Faculty Recruitment & Development
Attract, develop, and retain highly competent faculty and research scholars.
Implement faculty development programs, performance evaluations, and mentoring frameworks.
Lead succession planning and capacity building within the School of Pharmacy.
5. Student Success & Experience
Strengthen student discipline, welfare, counseling, placements, and higher education pathways.
Drive student employability through skill development, internships, industrial training, and certification programs.
6. Industry & Institutional Partnerships
Develop strong collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, research labs, and government bodies.
Promote MoUs, internships, workshops, guest lectures, and joint research initiatives.
7. Administrative, Financial & Infrastructure Management
Manage department budgets, resource planning, and infrastructure development.
Oversee labs, equipment procurement, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
Lead planning and execution of academic events, conferences, and seminars.
Qualifications & Experience
Ph.D. in Pharmacy (mandatory).
Minimum 15+ years of academic experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as HOD / Dean / Director.
Proven track record in PCI / AICTE compliance , institutional development, and academic leadership.
Strong research profile with publications in Scopus / SCI journals , funded research, patents preferred.
Experience in managing large teams , interdisciplinary collaboration, and student development.
Strong understanding of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in Pharmacy & Life Sciences.
