Mainframe Software Engineer (Java / C)

PKWARE is seeking a Mainframe Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java and C programming within IBM z / OS environments. You’ll design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions on mainframe systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on IBM z / OS using C, Java, JCL, REXX , and related technologies.
• Participate in the full SDLC : requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and production support.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot defects, and ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (System Engineers, QA, DevOps, Business Stakeholders).
• Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and operational procedures.
• Support legacy systems while contributing to modernization efforts.
