Role Summary – Organisation Design Consultant
As an Organisation Design Consultant at Universal Consulting, you will play a vital role, partnering with leadership teams to analyse, design, and implement effective organisational structures, processes, and roles. This will involve diagnosis of the current organisation structure, assessment of process gaps and its implication on organisation structure, designing future ready organisation structure in alignment with strategy, culture, and goals, defining and implementing key performance metrics and defining future competencies. We seek someone with organisation consulting experience from a professional services firm.
Key Responsibilities
1. Diagnose current state
- Assess current organisational structure, roles, processes, and culture.
- Identify inefficiencies, overlaps, gaps, and misalignment using structured tools and methodologies.
- Gather and analyse data from org charts, performance metrics, interviews, and surveys.
2. Identify Gaps & Opportunities :
Spot inefficiencies, unclear roles, overlapping responsibilities, or bottlenecks in workflow or decision-making.Evaluate how the current design supports or hinders the business strategy.3. Design the Future State :
Design new operating and organisation models aligned to business strategy.Translate business strategy into appropriate structural and organisational responses.Ensure the design supports agility, customer-centricity and growth.Recommend structural changes (e.g. layers, functional alignment, reporting relationships).Define and refine roles, responsibilities, governance, and decision rights (RACI, RAPID).Develop job charters and decision matrices that clarify accountability.4. Change Management & Implementation
Assist in implementing new designs through detailed transition plans.Support communication, change management, capability-building, and team re-alignment.Monitor adoption and performance indicators to ensure sustainable change.Who We're Looking For
Must-Have Skills & Experience
1–3 years of organisation design consulting experience in a professional services firm.Strong problem-solving and structured thinking skills.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and client engagement skills.Ability to manage project workstreams and work independently.Strong project management skills for timely delivery.Change management certification or training is a plusWillingness to travel to client locations.Confident presentation skills, in-person and virtually.Project / program management experience.Understanding of business strategy, operating models, and capability mapping.Educational Qualifications
MBA / PGDMGraduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or similar disciplines from a reputed institution.
