Job Overview :
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and experienced Lead / Principal AI Engineer with 9-14 years of dedicated expertise in both Generative AI and the burgeoning domain of Agentic AI, with a strong foundation in Python.
Based in Pune, you will be a pivotal technical leader, responsible for shaping our strategy, driving the research, design, development, and deployment of sophisticated, autonomous AI systems.
This role demands a visionary who can architect and build intelligent agents capable of complex reasoning, planning, tool utilization, and autonomous problem-solving, leveraging the latest advancements in large language models, diffusion models, and multi-agent paradigms.
Key Responsibilities :
As a key leader in our Agentic AI and Generative Systems initiatives, you will :
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of highly intelligent and autonomous AI agents.
- This includes defining agent architectures, designing planning and reasoning modules, and building robust decision-making frameworks.
- Leverage advanced Generative AI models (e.g., Large Language Models like GPT, Llama; Diffusion Models) as core components within AI agents for enhanced reasoning, natural language understanding, generation of responses, and code execution.
- Design and implement comprehensive tool-use capabilities for AI agents, enabling them to interact with external APIs, databases, proprietary systems, and third-party services to achieve complex goals.
- Implement & Optimize Agentic Orchestration : Drive the adoption and effective implementation of Agentic AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel), customizing and extending them to meet specific project requirements.
- Design and develop collaborative multi-agent systems where individual AI agents work together autonomously to solve distributed problems or achieve collective intelligence.
- Stay at the forefront of the latest research, advancements, and industry trends in Agentic AI, Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI, and autonomous systems.
- Conduct in-depth feasibility studies and lead proof-of-concept projects for novel applications.
- Design and implement cutting-edge MLOps pipelines specifically tailored for the training, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of complex AI agents and generative models in production environments.
- Act as a central technical leader, providing expert guidance, code review feedback, and mentorship to a team of AI / ML engineers.
- Lead critical technical discussions, architectural decisions, and champion best practices in Python development, clean code, testing, documentation, and MLOps.
- Collaborate intensely with product managers, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Understand intricate requirements, define precise project scopes, and ensure the delivery of impactful, autonomous AI solutions that align with strategic business goals.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ensure the responsible and ethical development of all AI agents and generative models.
- Proactively address potential biases, fairness, transparency, safety concerns, and implement robust governance mechanisms.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
Experience : 9 to 14 years of extensive, hands-on experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with a demonstrable track record and deep specialization in both Generative AI and Agentic AI systems.
Core Programming : Exceptional proficiency in Python for AI development, including advanced concepts and best practices.
Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying autonomous AI agents.In-depth understanding of AI agent architectures (e.g., Sense-Plan-Act, Goal-Oriented Agents).Hands-on experience with Agentic AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.Experience implementing tool-use capabilities (function calling) for LLMs within agents.Knowledge of memory management and context window optimization in agents.Experience with building and orchestrating multi-agent systems.Strong practical expertise in various Generative AI models : Large Language Models (LLMs), Transformers, their applications (text generation, summarization, code generation), and fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, QLoRA).Familiarity with other generative models like Diffusion Models (Stable Diffusion) is a strong plus.Extensive experience with major AI / ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face Transformers.Proven experience with cloud-based AI / ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud AI Platform, Azure Machine Learning) for training, deployment, and management.Solid understanding and practical experience with MLOps principles and tools ( MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes) for continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring of complex AI systems in production.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and robust software engineering principles.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, effectively mentor team members, and drive projects to successful completion in a dynamic environment.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly and persuasively to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Skills (Brownie Points) :
Ph.D. in AI / ML, Robotics, or a closely related field.Experience with reinforcement learning for training autonomous agents.Familiarity with knowledge graphs and semantic web technologies for enhanced agent reasoning.Experience in integrating AI agents into complex enterprise architectures or real-time systems.Contributions to open-source AI projects (especially in agentic AI), published research papers, or patents in the Generative AI or Agentic AI domain.Experience with ethical AI frameworks and bias detection / mitigation techniques in AI agents.Knowledge of probabilistic programming or causal inference for agent decision-making.What We Offer :
