Airport Dimensions designs, builds, and operates airport lounges and other travellers’ experiences, and is one of the fastest growing global lounge operators in the world. It has a network of 55 airport lounges and experiences at major airports across the United States, United Kingdom and Middle East including Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, Gatwick, Heathrow, and Dubai. Airport Dimensions is committed to expanding its physical experiences for travellers and enhanced its digital and data driven experiences both in lounge and across the airport journey. Driving a better, more custom more personalized guest experience and driving increased and new revenue from the traveller.
Connecta is a key part of AD’s digital and data strategy. It is a platform which manages relationships and loyalty and the ability to transact across an e-commerce marketplace. Connecta has two key elements to its proposition :
- Connecta In-Lounge – Supporting the engagement of lounge guests, experience delivery and monetization
- Connecta Airports - Supporting relationship development between airports and travellers
Purpose of the job :
Working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, the role is responsible for supporting the definition, deploying and management of an evolving and growing digital and data airport experience proposition, for our lounge guests and wider airport users. Ensuring that Airport Dimensions maintains and grows its reputation for experience innovation and performance management.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer to support turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. The Data Engineer will also need to support the Data Scientist on the creation, maintenance, and delivery of the business intelligence layer of our data platforms, to ensure business can access data from the Datawarehouse easily and in a consistent and abstracted manner to drive value from our data, whilst building a scalable data architecture and customer feature rich dataset.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines in AWS.Develop and optimize robust data lakes using a combination of S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Snowflake, or Databricks.Orchestrate end-to-end data workflows and job scheduling using Python, PySpark, and SQL.Implement APIs for data access using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, and EKS.Build and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or equivalent tools.Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.Ensure high data quality, observability, testing, monitoring, and error handling in data pipelines.Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics, Product, and DevOps teams to support unified data access.Ensure data platform readiness for AI / ML initiatives with structured, reliable, and governed data.Take ownership of delivering end-to-end, production-grade, cost-efficient, and scalable data engineering solutions.Continuously learn and adapt new technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.Knowledge, skills, and experience required :
Proven experience as a Data Engineer in AWS-centric environments.Strong hands-on expertise in AWS services : S3, EC2, RDS, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, DynamoDB, EKS / ECS, API Gateway.Expertise in ETL development, data ingestion, and processing at scale using AWS Glue, Spark or Databricks.Proficient in Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL for transformations and automation.Strong experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI / CD tools, Git version control, Docker and Terraform for IaC.Experience in building and consuming APIs for data exchange.Exposure to data quality frameworks, monitoring, and troubleshooting data jobs.Knowledge of best practices in cloud security, cost optimization, and governance.Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with business and technical stakeholders.Ability to lead initiatives, work autonomously, and drive innovation by adopting new tools and methodologies.Person Specification :
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across a global organization, collaborating with virtual teams.The successful candidate will be comfortable working remotely but will have the flexibility to travel and be accessible to colleagues in our Mumbai (Andheri East) and London office from time to time.The candidate will have persuasive communication skills, able to develop, and be able to Input into compelling RFP / tender responses.The candidate will be comfortable successfully navigating and finding success in a global organization which exhibits the characteristics of both a family run business and a multinational corporation.
