About the Role :
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Buying & Merchandising Manager to drive product selection, inventory planning, and assortment strategy for our luxury footwear and handbag brand .
This role is pivotal in curating collections that align with brand aesthetics while optimizing stock levels and sales performance across all channels.
Key Responsibilities :
Buying Strategy & Product Selection :
- Develop and execute the seasonal buying strategy in line with brand identity, customer preferences, and market trends.
- Identify emerging trends in luxury footwear and handbags to curate a compelling and competitive product assortment.
- Collaborate with designers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the best quality and exclusivity in the collection.
Merchandising & Inventory Planning :
Analyze sales data and customer insights to determine optimal product mix and stock levels.Plan seasonal merchandise assortments, ensuring a balance between bestsellers and new collections.Work closely with all channel teams to ensure appropriate stock allocation across all sales channels.Sales & Performance Analysis :
Monitor product performance, sell-through rates, and profitability to refine future buying decisions.Develop pricing strategies based on market positioning and competitor analysis.Work with the marketing team to plan product launches, promotions, and campaign alignments.Trend & Market Research :
Stay ahead of global luxury fashion trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.Attend Buy weeks to source innovative and exclusive designs.Team Collaboration & Leadership :
Work closely with retail store managers, visual merchandising teams, and digital marketing teams to ensure product visibility and appeal.Lead and mentor a team of buyers and merchandisers to optimize the buying process.Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced certification in Luxury Retail Management is a plus.
Experience :
6+ years of experience in luxury fashion retail, specifically in buying and merchandising for footwear and accessories.Proven track record of selecting high-performing luxury products and managing vendor relationships.Skills :
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in sales forecasting and inventory management.Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.Deep understanding of luxury market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and global fashion trends.Proficiency in merchandising tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.Personal Attributes :
