Senior System Administrator

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Administrator / Manager to join our dynamic IT team at Valentas Bangalore office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in network and systems administration infrastructure management cybersecurity and end-user support. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our IT infrastructure supporting internal users managing cloud and on-prem systems and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT operations.

Job Summary :

The Senior IT Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and maintenance of the organizations IT systems and infrastructure. The role includes configuring hardware and software troubleshooting issues managing IT assets monitoring network performance ensuring data security and mentoring junior IT staff.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows / Linux) including cloud-based environments (Azure AWS).

Administer Active Directory Group Policies and Office 365 services.

Monitor network performance firewalls and VPNs to ensure optimal uptime and security.

Perform system upgrades patch management and regular backups.

Provide Level 2 and 3 support for IT incidents escalating issues where needed.

Manage endpoint security anti-virus and data loss prevention (DLP) tools.

Maintain and document IT processes inventory and configuration standards.

Support collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams Zoom and other unified communications platforms.

Lead IT onboarding / offboarding processes access controls and account provisioning.

Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and maintain SLAs.

Train and guide junior IT support staff.

Participate in IT audits and compliance activities.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.

5 years of proven experience in IT systems / network administration.

Industry certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA / MCSE) Cisco (CCNA / CCNP) or CompTIA (Network / Security).

Technical Skills :

Proficient in managing Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP.

Strong experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred AWS is a plus).

Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware Hyper- V).

Experience with ITSM tools and ticketing systems.

Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell Bash) for automation.

Expertise in firewall antivirus backup and disaster recovery systems.

Hands-on experience with endpoint management tools like Intune or SCCM.
