Role Overview :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of data management standards for model-related datasets. The role requires a strong understanding of data governance principles, particularly in a regulated financial services environment. You will collaborate closely with modeling, risk, and data teams to ensure high-quality, well-governed data is available for model development, validation, and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and implement data management standards for model data, including sourcing, lineage, data dictionaries, transformation logic, quality rules, and archival policies.
- Develop governance processes and templates for training, testing, and production datasets used in model development and monitoring.
- Partner with modelers, risk teams, and data owners to ensure data flows and controls align with enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to data-related regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, SR 11-7, GDPR).
- Support the design and operationalization of data quality checks and exception handling workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
6–10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles within the financial services sector.Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory expectations in model risk management.Proficiency in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.Ability to collaborate across risk, IT, and analytics teams and effectively communicate governance requirements.
