Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js

Essential Job Functions :

• Architect and develop scalable backend solutions using Node.js and Express.js.
• Design and implement Serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda) for highly available and cost-efficient systems.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and / or GraphQL services for client-side applications.
• Collaborate with DevOps and frontend teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with strong adherence to best practices.
• Create and manage SQL schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity and performance.
• Break down monolithic systems into microservices, ensuring service isolation, resilience, and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship to junior developers, and uphold high coding standards.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues :
• 8+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and Express.js.
• Experience building and deploying serverless applications (preferably with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar), including schema design and query optimization.
• Proven experience working with microservice architectures and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Good understanding of application security, logging, and monitoring.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and using tools like Jest, Mocha, or similar.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
