Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Counsel to oversee all legal affairs and ensure statutory compliance within the organization. The Legal Counsel will provide expert advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, draft and review contracts, handle litigation, and ensure the company’s interests are protected at all times. The ideal candidate should have strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and a sound understanding of Indian & Portuguese laws and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and legal documents with clients, vendors, and partners.
- Provide legal advice on corporate, contractual, labor, and regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Companies Act, Contract Act, and other statutory regulations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, liaising with external counsel where necessary.
- Handle legal documentation related to property title, leases, licenses, and intellectual property rights.
- Handle legal documentation related to commodity trading. Draft Sales Purchase Agreements, and other documents required for both domestic and international trade.
- Advise management on legal risks, obligations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement internal policies to ensure compliance and minimize legal exposure.
- Monitor and track changes in legislation relevant to the company’s operations.
- Maintain all legal records, case files, and contract databases systematically.
- Assist management in dispute resolution, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
Coordinate with regulatory authorities, consultants, and auditors for compliance matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university – Mandatory.
Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M) or specialization in Corporate / Business Law will be an advantage.
Other Skills

Membership with the Bar Council of India – Mandatory.Certification in Corporate or Business Law – Preferred.Training in Compliance, Arbitration, or Contract Management – Advantageous.Experience : Min 2 years
