Category Director - PC, South Asia
Your future position
Leading the growth and development of the Category, by way of strategic process excellence in fragrance development, which includes the development and implementation of the Sub-regional Category Strategy, through a holistic involvement of all functions of the team.
In this exciting and strategic role you will :
Regional Category Strategy and Innovation
- To lead the development and implementation of the Category Strategy
- To manage the Category action plan (including timing) in the regional strategy plan with the correct allocation of resource behind it to ensure successful implementation
- To evaluate with the CCD, the proactive pipeline to ensure the right level of pro-active programs are implemented to prepare for the future without compromising the reactive pipeline
- To ensure relevant participation in the Global Category Network, to both support and benefit from the cross-regional flow of work and learning
- To ensure alignment and sharing of learning between the Category teams within the region
Fragrance Development Excellence
To ensure the close involvement and day-to-day communication with the concerned PerfumersTo ensure market and consumer knowledge is a team strength and a core part of the fragrance development strategyTo be responsible for the right level of resource allocation by client / project (Eval, Mkt, CMI)To structure and prioritize developmental and brief-related consumer market researchTo support the Gallery Manager(s) in maintaining the best-in-class Gallery for each Category and key marketTo remove barriers that hinder the Development processTo support the CCD and the Best Practice Director, in building and monitoring continuous improvement related metrics and KPIsBusiness & Strategy
Establish direction, values, development strategies and processes, short, mid and long termCollaborate with Commercial teams to identify / interpret business needs and objectivesTo be closely aligned with the other Category Director(s) and drive joint initiatives within the category and cross-categorySuccessfully managing and implementing Innovation programs within the Category including ensuring fair share of resources like consumer testingBring the Development team to a state of readiness for strategic upcoming initiatives and needsEnsure intimate teamwork with Perfumery & Application Labs, the Other Category(ies) and Gallery management for a seamless collaborationLiaise with other functions such as (S&T, RAPS, IT) within Givaudan to ensure the needs of the regional category are represented appropriatelyFoster cross-category sharing / testing of best / winning themesSupport Strategic Initiatives whenever neededAllocate resources to cross-category and strategic / trend activitiesManage the team on a day-to-day basisPromote inside and across region communication and exchangesPeople Management
Ensure team leadershipCreate and manage a training & development roadmap for the team including formal mentoring along with the CCD and regional leads in expertise (Evaluation Training, CMI, Marketing) and HRGrow and recruit (as appropriate) talent within the team and manage succession planningYour professional profile includes :
University Degree / Masters Degree in Sales & Marketing or15 years of experience in the Fragrance related industryAt least 2-3 yrs of successful team leadership experienceDemonstrated :Global / International experience desirable
Proven ability in People ManagementProven ability in leading complex cross-functional and / or cross-regional projectsIndustry / Market Knowledge
Expert knowledge of fragrance products, general market dynamics, and olfactory trends.Understands client strategy, initiatives, priorities, and launch processes for key customersProven expert understanding of assigned brands and product categoriesProject Management Skills
