Job Description :

The MRB stress engineer evaluates areas of non-conformance regarding defects arising during the manufacturing process and as compared to the product definition requirements as defined by the part print. Their role is to evaluate and provide a course of action regarding the ultimate disposition of the part. For example, it may be used “as-is” with no corrective action, reworked to a condition that is acceptable for use, repaired, or scrapped.

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Responsible for non-conformance assessment and providing disposition
• Analyze variations to part print specifications which effect part form, fit, and function. This analysis will include performing tolerance stacks, stress, metallurgical, aerodynamic, dynamic, NDT, and heat transfer analysis
• Responsible for representing the stress team in the CFT analysis and disposition
• Responsible for all Hand calculations (Classical Method) for all stress calculations for aero engine components
• Should be creating stress justification reports and related stress hand calculations in consultation with customer SPCs and signatories
• Analyze non-conformances and rework proposals for aero engine components, specifically blisks and disks
• Should perform detailed analysis by hand calculations and analysis
