The Service Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization across all F&B service areas. This role ensures the smooth operation of the restaurant by supporting service staff, handling dishwashing activities, and maintaining back-of-house service equipment.
Key Responsibilities 1. Guest Service
- Welcome guests warmly and guide them to their tables.
- Present menus, take accurate orders, and serve food and beverages professionally.
- Ensure timely service and check back with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints politely and promptly.
2. Service Operations
Set up tables according to hotel / restaurant standards (mise-en-place).Clear tables, reset them for the next guests, and maintain cleanliness.Assist in buffet setup, replenishment, and presentation.Support bar and banquet teams during peak operations or events.3. Product Knowledge
Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.Understand daily specials, promotions, and upselling opportunities.Suggest food and beverage pairings when required.4. Billing & Order Systems
Process orders through POS systems accurately.Handle billing, payments, and receipts as per SOP.Coordinate with kitchen and bar for timely order execution.5. Hygiene & Safety
Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards.Follow FSSAI and internal hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols.Ensure all service equipment is clean and well-maintained.6. Teamwork
Coordinate with kitchen, stewarding, and other F&B teams.Assist colleagues during busy operations to ensure smooth service.Qualifications & Requirements
12th pass / Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management (preferred).0–2 years of experience in F&B service; freshers with good communication skills are welcome.Good interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.Basic knowledge of food, beverages, and service styles.
