Job Description

Desired Profile

• In-depth knowledge of database administration in MYSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and creation of stored procedures.
• Conduct support tasks such as Performance tuning, Data cleaning and Indexing, security configuration etc.
• Knowledge in database clustering.
• Provide enterprise-wide, DBA support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database creation, and database production support.
• Installation, configuration, customization, maintenance and performance tuning of databases.
• Knowledge in managing databases in Linux environment.
• Database version migration, patching and security management.
• Solve complex, non-routine problems and determine innovative solutions through cost / benefit analysis.
• Manage all aspects of database operations including implementation of database monitoring tools, event monitoring, diagnostic analysis, performance optimization routines and top-tier support for resolving support issues.
• Facilitate database backup and recovery as well as documenting and testing all backup and recovery procedures.
• Work closely with the application developers and Operations to ensure reliable database usage.
• Investigate application response time issues. Provide solutions for performance improvements. Validate and test stored procedures before implementation in the production environment
• Provide development and production support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues.
• Installation, configuration, customization, maintenance and performance tuning of databases.
• Knowledge in Virtualization, Load Balancing and Clustering Technologies
• Knowledge in Information Security concepts aligning to ISO 27001 standards
