National Clinical Advisor, Full-time

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Practice, you'll play a key role in strengthening the capability and consistency of the headspace centre network. You'll drive quality improvement, foster best practice, and support evolving models of care across a broad range of clinical initiatives.

Key responsibilities include :

• Providing expert clinical consultation to headspace centres and internal teams
• Leading implementation of evidence informed initiatives that uplift service quality
• Supporting the growth and sustainability of the national youth mental health workforce
• Mentoring and guiding clinical leaders and advisors
• Contributing to national campaigns and workforce development programs
• Representing headspace National in working groups and sector collaborations

Who we're looking for

You're a strategic thinker and clinical expert with a passion for improving mental health outcomes for young people. You bring a deep understanding of early intervention, youth mental health systems, and cultural safety. You're a confident leader who thrives in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment.

To be successful, you'll have :

• A tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, or counselling
• Current registration or eligibility with the relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA)
• 10+ years' clinical experience, including early intervention for young people
• Demonstrated leadership in service development, clinical innovation, and workforce training
• A strong understanding of the Australian mental health landscape, stepped care models, and evidence informed practice
• Experience managing high-performing teams and supporting staff development
