The opening is with a New Delhi based non-profit organisation with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building / sharing knowledge and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments. It is a system-focused and impact-driven organization dedicated to addressing the foundational learning crisis in collaboration with the national and state governments in India. Over the past 8 years, we have improved foundational learning outcomes of 850,000+ children and classroom processes of 2,50,000+ teachers and teacher educators across 8 states. It currently works with 8 state governments across the country.

Position Description

The position is responsible for managing both local and international grants. This includes monitoring and reviewing project budgets and cash flows, conducting financial reviews of projects, and facilitating project financial audits. Additionally, the role ensures accurate financial reporting, leads the budgeting process for new grant proposals, and builds team capacity to meet financial standards and compliance requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Funds Processing and Utilization

1. Monitor and process fund requests by projects, ensuring compliance with approved

limits.

2. Coordinate timely disbursal of funds to projects by collaborating with the Accounts

team.

Financial Monitoring and Review

1. Monitor project budgets and cash flows to ensure financial health.

2. Conduct financial reviews for assigned projects.

3. Assist in implementing cost control measures under the guidance of the Finance Manager.

Financial Management

1. Support in financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for grant projects.

2. Assist in developing and refining financial processes aligned with the organisations standards.

3. Contribute to accurate financial reporting for effective donor communication.

Capacity Building

1. Assist in enhancing the capacity of the project finance team for better financial compliance.

2. Support skill development initiatives within the team to ensure efficient financial management.

Inter -Department Liaisoning and Support

1. Provide financial inputs to the Fundraising and Marketing team for proposal development.

2. Collaborate with Program Associates to facilitate detailed budgeting at State Offices.

Compliance & Audits

1. Ensure adherence to statutory financial compliances across operations.

2. Support in preparing for and managing internal and external audits.

Team Support

1. Foster effective inter-team communication and contribute to positive team dynamics.

2. Participate in performance appraisals and support team development initiatives.

Educational Qualifications, Skills and Abilities :

Qualifications

• Post-Graduation degree in Accounts or related field.

Experience

1. Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 preferred.
