Role Overview :

We are seeking process-driven professionals with extensive hands-on experience in Retail Operations, Store Management, or Omnichannel Fulfillment. This specialized role supports the development and benchmarking of Large Language Models (LLMs) by designing and validating workflows that directly impact inventory accuracy, fulfillment speed (BOPIS / Ship-from-Store), in-store employee efficiency, and the seamless customer experience across all channels. The specialist will be crucial in recreating complex retail scenarios to validate AI outputs and ensure they enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.

What does day-to-day look like :

Accurately map and recreate complex retail operational workflows, covering inventory management, order fulfillment (BOPIS / curbside), POS transactions, associate task management, and communication between the store and corporate / digital teams.

Rigorously validate AI-generated outputs in operational scenarios, such as automated inventory lookup, store associate task assignments, customer support responses related to order status, and in-store procedural guidance, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and brand consistency.

Provide detailed, structured annotations and high-quality datasets derived from store operations, inventory logs, and associate interactions to continuously improve LLM training and evaluation for better retail execution and forecasting.

Simulate critical fulfillment and store challenges, including :

In-Store Simulation : Testing AI support for associate training, daily floor operations, and customer interaction points at the POS or fitting room.

SLA Tracking for Fulfillment : Validating AI reporting on pick-and-pack times, inventory cycle counts, and order handoff to customers or carriers.

Compliance Audits : Performing structured reviews to ensure AI actions comply with retail loss prevention, safety, and payment processing standards.

Requirements :

Proven experience (3+ years) in a hands-on role within Retail Operations, Store Leadership / Management, Visual Merchandising, or Fulfillment / Inventory Management for a multi-channel retailer.

High familiarity with industry-standard retail systems, including POS (Point-of-Sale) systems, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), OMS (Order Management Systems), or general task management tools like ServiceNow or Jira used in a retail environment.

Exceptional attention to detail with a strong understanding of how operational friction impacts the customer journey (e.g., failed BOPIS orders or inaccurate stock levels). Ability to identify AI shortcomings that disrupt seamless omnichannel experiences.

Conceptual understanding of how operational retail data (e.g., traffic counts, transaction logs, inventory variances) is used for training and evaluating Machine Learning models (LLMs) to drive efficiency and demand planning.

Excellent written English required for creating precise, training-quality procedural manuals and meticulously validating the clarity and accuracy of AI-generated communications for both customers and store associates.

Commitments Required : 40 hours per week with overlap 4 hours with PST

Engagement type : Contractor assignment(no medical / paid leave)
