Design Engineer – SolidWorks

Job descriptionMaintain the RFQ Register and ensure timely updates. Study and analyze basic 2D & 3D drawings along with specifications. Conduct product feasibility studies and create technical feasibility reports. Acknowledge receipt of projects and define target submission dates. Prepare and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) . Compile Raw Material (RM) and Standard Part (STD) requirements for projects. Coordinate with suppliers or internal teams to float requirements and obtain quotes. Develop Preliminary Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Control Plans (CP) for prototype readiness. Prepare APQP timing plans and define milestones for project execution. Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and process documentation, including work instructions. Validate processes for stamping, welding (Brazing, Spot welding, TIG & MIG), machining . Provide regular project updates to management & Project Managers (PM) until project handover to production. Implement problem-solving strategies and action plans to resolve technical challenges and improve efficiency. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 2D & 3D modeling. Strong analytical skills for technical feasibility assessments . Experience in APQP, FMEA, BOM preparation, and process validation . Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, stamping, machining . Ability to coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and management . Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

We are seeking an NPD engineers to develop the Precision sheet metal parts and minor assemblies, from RM planning to Final part FAI.
- Major processes involved are Punching, bending, Crimping, Welding, Brazing, Riveting, Drilling, Fitting etc.,)
- The role will need expertise on Process documents like PFD, CP, PFMEA, Stage drawings, Work Instructions / MOS etc.,
- We use SolidWorks
