Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic GM Plant Operations to lead end-to-end plant management for a leading food manufacturing company based in Hosur. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in spices and masala manufacturing , along with deep knowledge of FMCG food production systems, factory compliance, statutory requirements, and operational excellence. The role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage multiple factories and ensure consistent product quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations Management
- Lead and manage 23 factories independently , ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to maximize productivity.
- Maintain seamless coordination between production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams.
- Ensure all plant activities align with production schedules and customer commitments.
2. Quality, Compliance & Certifications
Ensure strict adherence to GMP, FSSAI, ISO, AGMARK, EIA and all statutory guidelines.Maintain high-quality standards and ensure product specifications are consistently met.Coordinate audits with certification and licensing authorities such as AGMARK, EIA, FSSAI, ISO22000 , etc.Ensure continuous improvement in food safety, hygiene, and documentation systems.3. Strategy, Systems & Processes
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve plant performance.Establish robust systems and SOPs for all plant activities.Drive process improvements and implement Lean / Kaizen initiatives for operational excellence.Lead change-management initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.4. Costing & Productivity Management
Manage end-to-end product costing and monitor cost parameters.Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement productivity-enhancing measures.Work closely with finance and procurement teams on budgeting and cost optimisation.5. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate large cross-functional teams across all units.Promote a culture of accountability, safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.Ensure effective manpower planning, training, and skill development.6. Reporting & MIS
Prepare and present MIS reports weekly, fortnightly, and monthly — as per management requirements.Track KPIs related to production, quality, cost, efficiency, and compliance.Provide timely insights and recommendations to the senior management team.7. Industrial & Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all industrial norms and statutory labour regulations.Collaborate with HR and admin departments to maintain harmonious industrial relations.Ensure all plant licenses and statutory documents are renewed and up to date.Candidate Requirements
Mandatory experience in the Spices & Masala industry.Proven track record in FMCG food manufacturing operations.Ability to independently manage multiple factory units.Strong knowledge of GMP, FSSAI, ISO certifications, and food safety standards.Expertise in product costing, process optimization, and continuous improvement.Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication, analytical ability, and cross-functional management skills.If your experience suits our JD, Pl share your updated resume to jobs@banyantalenthr.com
