Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Engineer – 2+ Years Experience – Ahmedabad & Nearby Locations​

About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled PAUT Engineer with strong hands-on experience in advanced ultrasonic inspection of welds, plates, pipes, and critical components in industrial environments. The ideal candidate will execute inspections at client sites across Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, ensuring high-quality, reliable results and compliance with relevant codes and standards.​

Key Responsibilities :

Perform Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on welds, plates, nozzles, pipes, and structural components as per approved procedures, codes, and client specifications.​

Set up, calibrate, and operate PAUT equipment, probes, wedges, and encoders; select appropriate scan plans, angles, and focal laws for each job.​

Acquire, interpret, and evaluate PAUT data to detect, size, and characterize discontinuities, and assess component integrity.​

Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports with indications, sizing, and disposition, and communicate findings to clients and internal teams.​

Follow all safety rules and site instructions while working at fabrication shops, plants, and construction sites.​

Coordinate with clients and project teams for job planning, scan plans, and execution schedules in and around Ahmedabad.​

Maintain proper documentation of procedures, calibrations, and inspection records as per quality system requirements.​

Required Qualifications and Experience :

Diploma or degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.​

Minimum 2 years of proven experience in PAUT, preferably in oil & gas, power, fabrication, or heavy engineering sectors.​

Valid Level II (or equivalent) qualification in Ultrasonic Testing and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing as per ASNT / ISO / PCN or similar scheme.​

Strong understanding of ultrasonic principles, phased array beam steering / focusing, and weld defect mechanisms.​

Ability to read engineering drawings, WPS / PQR, and NDT procedures.​

Good skills in PAUT software for data acquisition and evaluation.​

Preferred / Added Advantage :

Experience with complementary NDT methods such as TOFD, conventional UT, MT, and PT.​

Exposure to ASME, API, or other applicable codes and standards.​

Experience working at field sites, refineries, pipelines, or heavy fabrication yards.​

Location and Mobility :

Base location : Ahmedabad.​

Willingness to travel to client sites across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and nearby industrial regions as per project requirements.​

Data interpretation and reporting.​

Site coordination and client communication.​
